Carrie’s Place is proud to launch our Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) 2025–2027, marking a significant milestone in our ongoing commitment to reconciliation, equity, and cultural respect. This RAP builds upon our previous efforts, strengthening relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and embedding reconciliation into every aspect of our organisation.
Developed through extensive collaboration with First Nations community members, stakeholders, and our dedicated RAP Working Group, this plan outlines meaningful actions to foster respect, relationships, and opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. It reflects our commitment to cultural safety, inclusion, and empowerment, ensuring our services remain responsive to the needs of First Nations communities.
Key initiatives include:
- Strengthening partnerships with Aboriginal organisations and community leaders
- Expanding cultural awareness training for staff
- Supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employment and leadership opportunities
- Enhancing culturally safe spaces, including our Community Hub & Wellbeing Area
- Encouraging participation in reconciliation events such as NAIDOC Week and National Reconciliation Week
At Carrie’s Place, reconciliation is more than a statement—it is an ongoing journey of action, reflection, and continuous improvement. We are committed to walking alongside Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, ensuring that respect, justice, and equity are at the heart of everything we do.
We invite our community, partners, and stakeholders to join us in bringing this RAP to life. Together, we can create lasting change and contribute to a future where all Australians thrive.
